The positioning of a choir microphone is vital. A fact that was excellently illustrated on Wednesday at the Town and Gown Carol Service.
The way the mic’s had been originally set up to the sides of the choir was causing feedback in the sound system. They were then moved to a position that meant they were only picking up a small section of the choir and not giving the right balance of sound. At this point we raised them to a higher position in the knowledge that this would provide a much fuller sound of the whole choir, and without the feedback issue. It worked!
This change made an enormous impact on the sound and consequently the quality of the event… All down to the simple change of position enabling the microphones to pick up the sound better.
Sometimes we need to change our position so that we can better pick up what God is saying. It can make all the difference. Make sure you are spending time with Him, meeting with His people and living with your eyes, ears and heart open to what He is saying.
May we be those who hear God clearly and reproduce the sound of Heaven here on Earth.
Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints.” (Psalm 85:8)
