Blog by Joel Pridmore
This week’s blog is given its title by way of the name of the paint that has given the front of our building its fresh new look!
Words are important to me and always get my mind ticking away so as we applied the layers of high quality fresh new paint to the walls, I contemplated the name.
My initial thought about first dawn took me back to that first day that God created… imagining the freshness and beauty of that first glorious sunrise. As I continued to think about it though, I realised that the name might actually mean that first moment of day break that happens every day.
Whenever I think of new mornings and the new beginnings they bring, I think of the verse reminding us how God gives fresh mercy each and every day.
Fresh means new and full of life, mercy means loving kindness with all the grace, forgiveness and strength that God offers us. May we know the reality of this at that first dawn of each new day.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 2:22-23)
