He Will Remember Your Sin Snow More
Blog by Joel Pridmore
As spring has sprung these past two weeks, it’s hard to believe that a short fortnight ago, we were experiencing the extremely unusual phenomenon of several feet of snow in March! Even Aberystwyth had snow!!
It’s now a distant memory but for a few days, buildings, gardens, hills and fields were covered with the pure white brilliance of gleaming snow. But now it’s gone; melted away.
In Isaiah1:18 we read “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” – what an amazing promise! And written around 6 centuries earlier than Christ who, for us has become the fulfilment of that promise.
Through the life, death, resurrection and ongoing ministry by His Spirit, Christ has become the way that we can be set free from sin and the judgement we deserve. He is our righteousness.
Because of His mercy, receiving this gift by faith means that all our sin is covered and we are counted as righteous and holy – white as snow. But, unlike the ‘Beast from the East’ this is no transient, passing reality. This is our eternal truth and it cannot be melted away!
