I was thinking back this week to one of the highlights of the Scottish adventure my children and I had over the summer.

One of the many stunning places we drove via was Loch Lomond. As we journeyed, my children were getting a little restless; lunchtime hunger (and a full bladder) set in; and one of them (impatiently), told me to stop and park up. I had been keen to continue making progress, but I decided to go with the consensus in the car… and what a great choice they made! We found ourselves parked right next to a small hidden beach – rope swing and all… which we all had a lot of fun taking turns riding!

This was a truly special moment that I, and I hope my children, will never forget… the fact that I was the only one who got wet on the rope swing might help jog their memories if ever necessary!

Sometimes we are so focused on getting from A to B in life that we struggle to hear those around us when they tell us its time to park up for a moment.

May we learn to stop and take time for adventures with those who are most important to us.

“Martha, Martha… you are worried and upset about many things… Mary has chosen what is better.” (Luke 10:41-42)
