For Such a Time

We are all commissioned with individual gifts or talents… some are gifted musicians, others speak with great wisdom, these are among many other gifts. The reason we are all given different gifts is one of God’s many mysteries.

We often pay too much attention to the gifts of others whilst we leave our own talents on the shelf unnoticed and unnourished. Over the past month or so I wake up with the same passage of the Bible coming to mind…

For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish [since you did not help when you had the chance]. And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this [and for this very purpose]?” (Esther 4:14)

Over and again I have asked the Lord what does this mean to me… what must I do with this?

We have been given different positions and platforms to reach people for the Kingdom of God. God can use our gifts to reach the hearts of those seeking him and we should recognise our gifts before they die with us. Esther was given a platform… the task of liberating her people.

We should be a people who respond to what God has entrusted to us… ready to act when asked to, by Him. We want to leave this world having completed our assigned task.
